Hadrian's Walk · 5 July 2010

The Trust aims to help parents bereaved of a child in the Huddersfield, Halifax and Mirfield areas. We aim to assist parents in paying for headstones and funeral expenses, with other financial issues being addressed on an individual basis.

Story

Someone told me to take a hike.  I may have taken them a bit too literally.

This July, I will be walking the width of England (from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway or more specifically, the 84 miles of Hadrian's Wall) in support of The Joseph Salmon Trust, a charity founded in memorial to Joseph Salmon who died suddenly and unexpectedly in April of 2005 at the age of 3.

The Joseph Salmon Trust supports parents who have similarly lost a child by providing financial assistance at at time when they need it most whether it be assisting with funeral costs, household expenses or time off from work.

Sponsoring me through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.  Your donations will go directly to The Joseph Salmon Trust saving the charity time and expenses.  Oh, and to be clear -- the trustees and individuals who work for the trust do so on a purely voluntary basis, so you can be sure that EVERY BIT of your contribution will go towards supporting the parents.

Dig deep.  Dig generously.   And thank you for your support.  (Oh, and If I reach my goal of 750 by June 15, I'll shave my head.)
