Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you will know that mental health is a subject very close to my heart. Earlier in the year my company raised money for Samaritans as part of Mental Health Week and I wanted to do something more.

Samaritans give help to those who often feel that they have no one to talk to, or nowhere to turn. Someone at the end of the phone who will listen and care.

Every six seconds someone calls Samaritans. Often the one thing that those with mental health problems need is to talk. It may well be easier to open up and speak to a stranger than admitting that you need help to someone close to you. Some may indeed not have anyone to talk to, but they are there 24/7.

I try not to think about what would happen if they weren’t there, so instead, I’m sitting my (not inconsiderable) frame on a bike for 100 miles to try and make a tiny difference to someone.

A few pounds might pay for the few minutes which stops someone from losing their battle. So, if you can, I’d really apppreciate anything you can give.
