Help rebuild the CRUK Manchester Institute after fire

Story

Last week, my girlfriend Caroline's work place, CRUK Manchester Institute, was badly damaged by a fire.  This has had a devastating impact on the important work that goes on there in the fight against cancer and it is likely to take the institute several years to fully recover.

In the wake of the fire, CRUK has launched an appeal to help restore the institute so that their groundbreaking research can continue.   As I was already signed up to ride the Fred Whitton and the Etape du Dales this month I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to support the appeal.

For those who don't know, the Fred Whitton (7th May) and the Etape du Dales (14th May) are two of the hardest amateur cycling events in the country.  Both are 175 km long (112 miles for those using old money) and have over 3500m of climbing across some of the most challenging climbs in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national park.  I expect to complete each in around 8 hours.
