Story
I will be running the London Marathon on behalf of St Christopher’s Hospice in memory of the late Ronnie Saunders (My Nic's grandfather). Nic’s family experienced firsthand the care and devotion given by the staff at St.Christopher’s when they cared for her grandfather Ronnie. The care they provide is second to none and without their support and dedication the experience of coping with terminal illness would be unbearable for all those involved.
St Christopher’s was founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders to provide and promote care of the highest quality for dying people. Their services extend to family and loved ones, both during the illness and in bereavement.
It costs over £14 million every year to deliver all their services and only about one third of their income comes from the NHS. They must raise more than £9 million to continue to deliver their patient and family services free of charge.
St. Christopher’s Hospice rely on donations to continue caring for dying people and those close to them. Please help them to raise urgently needed funds by donating as little or as much as you can afford.
Every penny counts!
