Story

Hello

UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone for your donations, your words of encouragement and helping me beat my fundraising target. On Sunday, I completed the Barcelona triathlon in 2hours 37mins and am very chuffed with my time. I was out of the water in 37mins, did the bike ride (which they shortened to 33Km due to last minute spanish roadworks!) in 65mins and sprinted over the line in 46mins. The rest of the time was changing in and out of gear. Thanks again to everyone

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Triathlon Challenge

You may have heard me say "I am training for a triathlon" once or twice...I may also have mentioned how my life is just one big training session, either on a bike, in a pool or on a treadmill!

In May this year, having not cycled since I was about 14, unable to even complete 1 length of a 25m pool, but armed with a little bit of running experience, I decided to challenge myself to complete an Olympic distance Triathlon and raise money for charity - 1500m swim (60 pool lengths); 40Km bike (eg Winchester to Fareham); 10km run.

After a flurry of purchases (road bike, running shoes, wetsuit, trisuit/mankini, gym membership(!), swimming lessons(!!)), I have entered myself into the 17th Oct Barcelona Triathlon. My aim is finish within 3 hours.

British Heart Foundation - Martyn and Andy

I am raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Some of you may know that last year,  2 members of the NATS CTC Football Club - Martyn 'The Gaffer' Wilsdon and Andy Millar - sadly passed away from heart attacks. Both Martyn and Andy made valuable contributions on and off the field and I want to pay my respects to them by raising as much money as I can for the British Heart Foundation. So please dig deep and donate what you can.

Many thanks for your generosity,

Edwin
