Story
I know how disruptive, demoralising and debilitating it can be to suffer from chronic migraines.
My girlfriend Jess has suffered from migraines for almost a decade. While she has always been admirably brave in spite of the pain, excelling in her undergraduate/postgraduate studies and making strides in her career, Jess was sadly forced to stop working in the summer of 2018 (at which point she was experiencing 5 to 7 migraines a week). She is now focusing on both understanding how her migraines are triggered and how they can be eased, working with neurologists, physiotherapists, pain specialists and psychotherapists.
Living with Jess, I have been a caregiver over the past year. This experience of witnessing first-hand how migraines can affect someone’s life has motivated me to raise awareness about the condition, and I am deeply impressed with the Migraine’s Trust commitment to undertaking research, changing public perception and inspiring solidarity among sufferers.
It's a great privilege to run for the charity and raise money for a cause I care so much about.
Please donate generously so we can beat migraines, for Jess and for all. Feel free to join me in central London on Sunday 24th March to watch the race (and share a celebratory drink or two after).
Best, Ed X
