London Marathon 2011 - Done! 5hrs 51 mins 4 secs

London Marathon 2012 - Applied for! :D

Thanks to everyone for the support & sponsorship!!

Newsflash!!:  March 2011 - Not long to go now!!  Running going fine...slowly and steady but I know I will finish!!!  Regular short runs are 6 miles long...!  Got my running vest in the post in Feb so now pounding the Thames Path in my fetching top which a colleague reminded me made me look like a footballer who plays for Croatia!!  Red is not my favourite colour for clothing but luckily there's a cute heart on it (and a load of white!).

Another Newsflash: Completed the City of Norwich Half Marathon (13/3/11) in 2hrs 16mins...very pleased with that time!!  Was my 1st ever half marathon.  Bring on 17th April....should be fun!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Hopefully it will only take you a few minutes to donate towards my marathon fund...marathon running...me...26 miles & 385 yards...Eek...

For the last few years I have been watching the London marathon and cheering on the runners.  A few years ago I saw a certain celebrity run the marathon and I thought if she can do it then so can I!!  So here I am...I don't have a time target in mind (like under 4 hours - which is crazy!!) but I do have a marker - I need to beat the road sweeper and the people who take down the advertising boards!!

One major thing about the London Marathon is the charity runners...I am one of those!  I have been selected to run for The Variety Club (take a look at their website here: http://www.varietyclub.org.uk), a well-known children's charity.  Being a teacher I thought this was worthwhile.  Over the past 5ish years in my work I have been a driver of a Sunshine coach taking children on various trips to swimming lessons & horse riding lessons - this coach was donated by The Variety Club.  Professionally I know how important The Variety Club is.

Please dig deep and sponsor me whatever you can.  Every little helps...(copyright belongs to a certain famous supermarket!)

Every single penny given to The Variety Club goes into providing help where help is needed for children and young people across the country. The Variety Club focuses on giving direct support to children, young people and their families to make sure that everyone can reach their full potential.

Your kind donation, whatever its amount, will go directly towards the continuance of their vital work. I know Christmas is coming up and money may be tight but on behalf of all Variety's children I would like to say an extra special thank you for your gift - please be ensured that it will be used to very best effect and make a real difference to someone's young life.
