Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 23rd February 2010, my nephew, Tommy Hollis, was crushed when a lamp post fell on him as he slept in his pram waiting to cross the zebra crossing outside Chiswick Town Hall. He died in hospital two days later, one day before his first birthday.
Tommy was a happy, smiley boy who spread joy to everyone he met. In February, he would have celebrated his 5th birthday - a milestone for any child. He no doubt would have been enjoying the summer holiday with his two younger brothers whom he never met.
The Tommy Hollis Children's Fund was set up in his honour to spread the joy he gave those whose lives he touched. The charity raises money primarily for the benefit of underprivileged, sick and orphaned children.
On 21st September, I'll be running the Bristol Half Marathon in support of the charity. The fund grants money to existing charities that work with children. It aims to target those charities where its help is most needed to provide:
- immediate care
- ongoing support for children and their families
- support in bereavement.
