Our Every Heart Matters appeal will benefit cardiac patients across West Suffolk.
As a charity we fundraise to enhance the wonderful care already given to patients and their families at West Suffolk Hospital and our new appeal is no exception.
Launched mid-July, we are going to fundraise £500,000 for a new cardiac diagnostics unit to complete the fully-integrated cardiac centre coming to West Suffolk Hospital in 2018.
Currently many of our patients have to go to other hospitals for cardiac services - to have pacemakers fitted or for other treatments or more invasive procedures, which may mean they have to wait for further diagnosis and treatment.
The new plans will see the coronary care unit and cardiac ward come together with a new imaging and pacing suite allowing pacemakers and angiograms to be fitted and performed.
Working closely with our wonderful cardiology team and consultant, Dr Pegah Salahshouri, our aim is to bring the diagnostic unit down to join the new suite. This will mean all cardiology specialties will be together creating a cardiac centre and ensuring treatment will be faster, more efficient and ensuring an improved service for our heart patients.
Please support our appeal and help us make a difference because every heart matters.
