Sylvia Wright works in a very deprived part of India. She runs a residential school for 210 profoundly deaf children, a day centre for disabled children and a Nursing College. She is supported by the Trust which has no paid staff and sends 97p out of every pound raised to fund her work.

Story

My Friends and Family, once again I have been invited to go to India to the Sylvia Wright Trust hospital in South India, where myself and a team from the Essex Nuffield hospital will provide essential care, treatment and training.

2 years ago you were all so generous in your donations for the hospital. All of which made such a difference. But as always, much more is needed. My fundraising this year will will go a long way to help the Sylvia Wright Trust to purchase an ambulance, which is much needed to transfer very ill patients to the larger hospital miles away. At the moment, very sick people- including the elderly and children- are transported to the hospital in an old van.

My time spent at the hospital 2 years ago was an amazing and humbling experience and it was a privilege to be able to help in some way. The surgery performed by the team changed the lives of so many people, and I know an ambulance would do the same.

This year I am aiming to raise £3000 for the ambulance.

Thank you for anything you can give, it will be greatly appreciated.
