Move for Midwives

Move for Midwives · 10 October 2022
I'm walking 10,000 steps every day this week to raise funds to help train midwives. That's about 30 miles!
It costs £30 to train a midwife in sub-Saharan Africa to equip them with the skills to manage complications in childbirth. £150 could train 5 midwives. Please help me to reach my goal!
More about Amref Health Africa:
Amref Health Africa is Africa's leading health NGO. Headquartered in Nairobi, we partner with communities in 35 countries to sustainably strengthen health systems and improve access to healthcare.
Africa experiences the highest rates of maternal, newborn, and child mortality of any region. Of the hundreds of thousands of women who die while pregnant or giving birth every year, two thirds live in sub-Saharan Africa. The ten countries with the worst maternal mortality rates are all in Africa. Most of these deaths are preventable when women have access to the right care and support prior to, during, and following childbirth.
Improving maternal health is at the heart of Amref Health Africa's work. We aim to ensure that women across the continent can give birth safely and with dignity - to end preventable deaths across the region. Through the provision of training, support and resources to midwives, Amref works to make this vision a reality.
