Walk an hour for Premmie Power · 20 June 2018

More than 8,000 babies are born at the National Maternity Hospital every year. That’s a new baby every hour, 365 days of the year. The NMH Foundation raises vital funds with a focus on advancing maternal and neonatal health, through funding research, innovation and providing excellence in care.

Story

Freddie’s journey started when he was born at 26 weeks and from there was faced with many many battles, because Freddie was so early he was unable to breathe for himself so was put straight onto a ventilator which unfortunately he stayed on for a total of 15 weeks after suffereing a major lung haemorrhage, this was only the start of Freddie’s problems as he also suffered a brain haemorrhage, a burst bowel, 3 cardiac arrests, blood poisining twice, a broken hip, laser eye surgery, 14 blood transfusions, many respiratory arrests, heart surgery, 4 bowel sugeries and cellulitis. Through each one of these holles street never gave up on freddie and we can never thank them enough. But hopefully by doing this fundraiser we can help other little babies get the best help possible through their little journeys x
