World AIDS Day RED RUN 2019 · 30 November 2019 ·
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.
Positive East has been at the forefront of HIV service and care for 28 years; supporting people from the first point of HIV diagnosis through to longer term care.
While there have been some fantastic developments in HIV medication, there are still too many people who are undiagnosed or diagnosed late and HIV stigma and discrimination are still a reality faced by many living with HIV.
Every year, Positive East gives advice and support to more than 1,000 people who walk through their doors and a further 2,000 who receive a free HIV/STI test in Positive East’s offices and outreach sessions. The charity’s services include support groups, counselling, an advice line, peer mentoring & support, a health & well-being program, HIV testing & prevention and lots of volunteering opportunities.
Positive East’s vision is “A world where people living with HIV are able to fulfill their potential, free from stigma and discrimination, living full healthy lives” and their mission is to “Improve the quality of life of individuals and communities affected by HIV”.
