Elaine's Miss Scotland/SAMH 2021 Fundraising

Elaine Burns is raising money for Scottish Action for Mental Health

Miss Scotland/SAMH 2021 Fundraising · 2 June 2021

Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Story

As part of my Miss Scotland journey I started fundraising for SAMH and I will continue this on, with my first fundraiser being the Kiltwalk on 26th September.

SAMH are incredible in what they already do, to support people across Scotland who are struggling from poor mental health. My greatest concern is the lack of resources available for people who are struggling. There is now much more awareness and people are willing to speak out as we have worked hard to reduce the stigma around mental health, however I feel there is a massive lack of resources to assist people when they do speak out.

I want to continue to raise awareness and funds for SAMH in the hope that they continue fighting for a clear anti suicide strategy within Scotland, which is effective in reducing the figures we are seeing rising.

For this reason I would appreciate every donation possible, big or small.
