Story
Making a Difference Tameside is a rehabilitation centre where people who suffer with long term with depression, anxiety, bipolar and a range other other mental health illnesses can go to feel safe, learn to socialise again and gain new key life skills to help them gain the confidence to move on in their lives.
Making a Difference recruit and train volunteers to coach anyone who seeks support at the centre and cover skills ranging from cooking, bill payments, budgeting, crafts sewing, languages, literacy, numeracy and fitness to name a few, all aimed at reintegration of all members back into functioning society. Goods that are made from the sewing and crafts workshops are sold on to generate money for the centre and people seeking support and help are overtime trained to help and volunteer at the centre themselves creating an experienced and understanding environment for newcomers.
Mental health illnesses has sadly become a prevalant part of modern day society, with at least 1 in 4 reported cases of mental health illnesses in the UK. Unfortunately, support and awareness around mental health issues and the impact in can have on a person's day to day life is limited. Making a Difference Tameside are working to change this, increasing awareness and support in the Tameside and Manchester area, providing much needed support and guidance to any person suffering and truly making a difference and providing hope to so many people.
This e-foods nominated charity is one of three that 5 of us will be jumping out of a plane for. Please, spare any ££ you may have to support one of your choice and make jumping out of this plane a little easier for us knowing the money raised will be going to charities that do some absolutely incredible work for people who need it most!
Thank you so much for supporting!
