Story
HI
I'm Elaine, you probably know that.
I have long hair which isn't doing much good on my head so I'm chopping it off and donating it to make a wig for a child with cancer.
It's being chopped by a highly skilled 6 year old hairdresser called Seren, who is currently undergoing some pretty nasty treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and she is handling it like a boss. Seren is bloody brilliant - but I'm not sure just yet how much I trust her with a pair of scissors!
I'm doing this in September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: as part of this I'll also be taking part in CLIC Sargent's challenge60 and running 60 miles throughout the month of September. This might not sound like much in a month but for a severe asthmatic with a wonky hip and a dodgy knee, it could present some challenges!
Please give me some money (if you can) because CLIC Sargent are INCREDIBLE, they provide emotional, practical and financial support to children, young people and their families with cancer in the UK.
Nobody plans for childhood cancer, nobody saves for childhood cancer, but on average a family spends £600 more a month when their child is going through cancer. That's no good. CLIC Sargent do everything they can to limit the damage that cancer causes outside of to the child's health, so that all they have to do is focus on getting better. I want to raise £600 to potentially cover the extra cost of living for one month, for one family.
