Elaine Bain is raising money for AIMS

Team: AIMS Mindful Troops

Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2026 · 7 June 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Create a supportive, welcoming community for individuals with MS and other neurological conditions. Run online exercise classes (mindfulness, chair yoga, social quiz), face to face exercise classes and regular meet-ups across Aberdeen city and Shire, to promote inclusion and combat social isolation.

Story

We’re taking on the 4 mile Kiltwalk to support Aberdeen Independent Multiple Sclerosis (AIMS). AIMS exists to empower people living with MS and similar neurological conditions to lead independent lives by providing accessible exercise, social connection and wellbeing support.

AIMS is run by a devoted team of retired volunteers who pour their time, energy, and hearts into the charity. They offer fitness, gentle movement classes, creative sessions, mindfulness, and a place where people feel seen, understood, and genuinely welcomed.

Instructors, volunteers and supporters of the charity, witness the positive impact of these sessions.

Members tell us they feel at home, less alone and classes are their lifelines. Their mobility improves, their confidence grows, and their spirits lift. The monthly social gatherings, the camaraderie and the relief of knowing they don’t have to walk this journey alone matter more than words can say.

AIMS receives no major external funding and relies on donations and fundraising to continue. We need additional resources to sustain and expand services.

If you’re able to contribute, your support will directly help people living with long term, complex conditions access community, connection, and care.
