Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·

The Antoine Trust was created in memory of Antoine Willing who died of brain cancer on 11 April 2012, age 7, in Jersey, Channel Islands. The Trust’s mission is to support Jersey children undergoing cancer treatment. Its initial project is the funding of a paediatric oncology nurse coordinator.

Story

On the 8th September 2019 I will be taking part in the world’s largest half marathon – The Great North Run! The 13.1 mile (21km) course starts in Newcastle and heads to the coast finishing by the North Sea in South Shields. This is my first ever half marathon so I’m very excited but also very nervous. Most importantly though I am running to raise money for The Antoine Trust, a charity very close to my heart. The Antoine Trust was set up in memory of one of my very close friend’s younger brother, Antoine, who lost his young life after a battle with a brain tumour aged seven. The Trust does amazing work to enhance the treatment and care of children suffering from cancer and their families in Jersey. Any donations to this fantastic cause would be very much appreciated.
