Story
I have set up this page in memory of Liam, son to my close friends Emily and Tom.
Liam was stillborn on Saturday 14 December 2019. On Thursday 12 December they got the devastating news that Liam had died; this was 40 weeks and 6 days into their pregnancy. They had heard his heart beating just the day before. They’d spent 9 months getting ready to bring their little boy home and knowing that would never happen was utterly heart-breaking. Their lives were turned upside down at that moment.
This page is to raise money in Liam’s memory for the Jessop Wing Appeal to create a new Bereavement Suite for parents and families who have experienced baby loss: https://www.sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk/appeal/jessopsappeal
The care they received, led by the midwife team, during the 3 days they spent on the Jessop Wing for Liam’s birth was truly wonderful and inspirational. It showed them tiny glimmers of light at the darkest possible time. This page is therefore also in recognition of the incredible skill, care and compassion of the midwife team who cared for them when they needed it the most. The appeal aims to provide a new Bereavement Suite that will create an environment worthy of the care provided by the wonderful people at Jessops, it is an extremely worthy cause and one that has become really close to their hearts.
I will be running alongside Liam’s dad Tom and any donation would be welcomed as neither of us have done much running recently!
Thanks
Eleanor x
