Story
A final word from Eleanor Jane Fincham: "Thank you to everyone for donating so generously to Macmillan cancer support in memory of Anita. The run was fun to do (bit like childbirth, the memory fades!) and it was inspired by memories of such a wonderful friend. Thank you."
Many thanks for taking the time to visit our 'JustGiving' page dedicated to the memory of schoolfriend Anita Hatherley (27/01/1956-16/08/2012).
The idea of dedicating to Anita and fundraising for 'Macmillan' was conceived by Eleanor Jane Fincham (nee Holliman), who is a very keen runner and was also at school with Anita, along with Angela Griffin (nee Headley) and myself (see photos).
I was very keen to support Eleanor's run and in turn she wants do do something constructive in Anita's name.
Donating to Macmillan is apt as Anita was so full of praise for the help they gave her during her illness with breast cancer and towards the end of her life.
Message from Eleanor: " I am sure we are all very sad to have lost such a witty, generous, warm and inspiring friend who died in August 2012. I have decided to run 10k in Anita's memory in the Macmillan run on 16th June in Regents Park. This is my first 10k (and possibly my last!) and any support you feel able to give in Anita's name will be very welcome and will inspire my tired and aching legs! Anita would have laughed to see me stagger round and would no doubt have had a wonderful witticism to contribute. We miss her very much. Thank you for reading this and to Tessa for organising this page. Eleanor"
All funds raised will go directly to Macmillan.
