Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Elective Aid is a part of Selfless, a UK registered charity which hopes to change the lives of the underprivileged by sharing skills, knowledge and resources.

The Elective Aid mission is simple, to provide free medical attention to communities in need throughout the world.

Bangladesh's healthcare infrastructure is fragile, with 60% without access to basic healthcare. Currently there is 1 doctor for 10,000 inhabitants.

This year 15 medical students from UK universities will be travelling to Bangladesh to host 3 medical healthcare camps. Under the supervision of local doctors we will be screening and providing free medication to those that visit our camp. Each camp is set to accommodate 5,000 of Bangladesh's poorest rural inhabitants; we will be present at all camps ensuring that your donation directly benefits those in need.

Our itinerary is as follows:

Camp 1: 24th July, Muslim Aid Hospital, Kulaura, Maulvibazar
Camp 2: 26th July, Jointapur, Upazilla, Sylhet
Camp 3: 31st July, Cox's Bazar Hospital for Women and Children

We will be updating our blog during our trip, please stay in touch with us  - www.elective-aid.org

Such a huge endeavour can only be realised with your support. Please dig deep and donate whatever you possibly can.

Thank you.
