Story
Assalamu' alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
I have created this page in hopes to raise awareness and fundraise through a sunrise mountain climb for the people in Gaza. Clean drinking water is scarce leaving at least, one million people vulnerable. Any money raised will go towards building a solar-panelled water station. Your donation to the Gaza Water project could provide water to 260 families.
"When you provide a family with the seeds and tools to cultivate their own vegetables to not only feed them but also provide an income, this is known as Sadaqah Jariyah. This type of charity is continuous and its benefits are reaped by both the donor and receiver, even after the person giving it has left this earth."
Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim: "When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)"
Water projects such as this one, are a true example of how one act of charity can multiply; bringing more and more benefit and reward. Being able to provide water to a neighbourhood can potentially see families live healthily, grow crops/food and keep them fit to excel in education etc...
Jazakallah Khair for any contribution made.
About Water for Gaza:
Since 2015, conflict has raged down on Gaza, destroying the region and reducing services to rubble. Less than 1/3 of Gaza’s water plants are regulated or licenced, leading to contamination risks with sewage seeping into drinking water. Unstable power supplies and difficulties in the delivery of materials have compounded the issue. To obtain clean water, the only option is expensive tinkered water, pushing people further into poverty and desperation.
Together lets make a difference:
Water should be a source of hope and life, not fear and danger. There is an urgent need for access to safe water supply and improved sanitation and hygiene in homes and at points within communities. Regulated, stable water supply is essential to help those who are injured recover, to provide families with water for drinking, cooking or washing and vital to the survival of livestock.
Muslim Aid has been on the ground in Gaza since 2006, working hard to provide essential services. Muslim Aid is a UK based charity established in 1985.
Queen Mary University North African Society have pledged to raise £14,000
