Trailwalker UK 2017
Campaign by Oxfam GB (RCN 202918)
This year more than 400 teams will trek 100km across the South Downs in under 30 hours raising money for Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Story

Four women tackle a 100km race, taking every brutal step together. That's how we started, in Hong Kong, in 2013. Each year since, a team of 4-5 women, running under the name Hot on Their Heels, took on Oxfam Trailwalker in Hong Kong, raising over $100,000 (HKD) fight poverty worldwide.

The roster changed over the years, as our beloved teammates moved away from Hong Kong's hills. This fateful year, however, we officially have a quorum of HOTHs living in Europe and it's time to tackle a new trail. The excellent decision to embark on this journey was made over a few drinks in a London bar.

Leading the team, we have Claire "The Buddha" Garner, an original HOTH who did two rounds in Hong Kong but lived on in all our races thanks to our guiding principle that keeps us safe and sane: "What Would Claire Do?"

Tanya "Pirate" Bennett will be flying all the way in from Hong Kong, because as the only HOTH to have competed in every single Trailwalker we've done, she can't let the streak end.

Our resident Scotswoman and final original, Kirsten "Queen of Photoshop" Kelly, is making her return to the race after taking a few years off. This unstoppable trooper finished her last 100km with flip flops taped to her feet because of blisters. That is HOTH dedication.

Eleni "Where's my sandwich?" McGee will be running her fourth consecutive Trailwalker. A Greek-American, she's our only non-Brit this year, bringing the continental spirit in from her home in Frankfurt.

Sadly, Victoria "The Rugby Rookie" Pawsey won't be running her first OTW this time round. An unfortunate diary clash means she won't be on the start line for this one - but a healthy dose of HOTH spirit means she will be joining our support crew. Don't forget the sandwiches!!!

We are a global community of women dedicated to lifting people up. Whether it's each other during a dark moment on a trail or those who benefit from Oxfam's amazing work. Please take a moment to support as as we bring this mission, and our terrible trail sing-a-longs, to a whole new continent.
