We provide financial support and guidance to those working in the care sector

Story

On 1 October, the team at Elevation is walking a section of Hadrian’s Wall in support of The Care Workers’ Charity.

The Care Workers’ Charity was founded in 2009 with the objective of supporting current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants. Given the challenges in the sector resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, this work is now more important than ever before.

There are 1.5 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces, and caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. For the UK's care workers, early starts, long hours and mentally draining work are part and parcel of the job. As a result, it's all too easy for illness, or other unforeseen circumstances, to push them beyond their financial limits.

About the charity

The Care Workers Charity supports the basic welfare of current and former retired care workers. As a vulnerable workforce, when life takes a turn for the worse, the Care Workers Charity can provide financial support and guidance to overcome inevitable challenges.
