In January 2011, I lost a very special person to me - my Nanny, to pancreatic cancer. Nanny was a very strong, funny and healthy woman, and nobody could have predicted that this would happen to her as she showed no signs of weakness. However, after 11 months of hoping and praying that she would get better, Nanny was taken away from us.

Since Nanny died, I have researched pancreatic cancer and found that only 3% of those diagnosed survive longer than 5 years after diagnosis even though it is one of the top 5 most common cancers. I would like to raise money and awareness for The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund as it receives very little funding. It broke my heart when my Nanny died and I would like to do everything I can to help those who are diagnosed to have a fighting chance at beating this terrible disease. But I can't do this alone, so please find it in your heart to make a donation - no matter how large or small, to help other happy healthy people, like my Nanny, survive pancreatic cancer.
