Story
On Saturday 30th November, I will be walking 20 miles from Sizewell to Southwold along the Suffolk Coast Path to help raise funds for families suffering from domestic abuse.
I will be walking in aid of Women Acting in Todays Society (WAITS), a Birmingham-based, female-focussed charity that supports...
- women who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, domestic abuse
- women who have offended in the past or are at risk of offending/re-offending in the future
- women who are fleeing from, or facing homelessness, owing to domestic violence
WAITS' central aim is to support the women with whom they work in achieving their goals, making them feel empowered and helping them gain independence.
My Mum has worked with WAITS for over 20 yeas and I would like to contribute to the charity's life changing work.
The money I raise will go towards supporting the family refuge for women and their children who are fleeing domestic violence.
I have set myself an ambitious target as my employer Barclays will match sponsorship donations up to £1,000.
