Children no matter what their background or social standing deserve the best start in life. They need a space to learn to empower them with the knowledge and belief that a better and happier life is possible.

In February 2014 Plan International UK and the company I work for, Turner Broadcasting have joined forces to help build a school in Tanzania, Kazimzumbwi village to exact! ( where?… here is a map!).

I’m grateful to be part of a team working with local builders for a week to help collectively raise £40,000 to pay for everything from equipment, training and construction including the toilets!

All money raised goes to the project, as Turner will cover the travel costs so PLEASE give generously as every penny will be spent on the project.

There will be pictures and a live blog when we are out there so you track our progress.

I'm doing this in memory of my father, a great believer in education and reaching for the stars ( okay I admit I couldnt cope with the thought of running!) .
