Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When my sister Elizabeth (Liz) Baillie was diagnosed with motor neurone disease we’d both been working on publishing the book, Leaning on a Gate. It’s a compilation of articles written by our mother Elizabeth Macpherson and following our father’s death in 1944.
The gentle humorous bulletins record life on a Scottish upland farm and helped boost an income to support the two small children she was left to bring up on her own.
Adults now, and going over these articles, we realised the strength, humour and courage she had and as children, we’d always taken for granted. She must have had her dark days but we seldom saw them.
We felt she would have approved of royalties from Leaning on a Gate going to the Motor Neurone Association.
