More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

Story

When I started my ride at Euston in 2018,  2600 miles ago, I was doing it just for fun. The world has changed since then. Luckily I can still do my ride, in this beautiful peaceful country which is my home. On my first ride this in 2019 on the west coast of Scotland, I saw lots of Ukrainian flags showing their support and it reminded me how freedom is often taken for granted. My big bike ride is still for fun, but if I can help raise money for the people of Ukraine, whose lives have been turned upside down, it is worth a try.

2023 sees the third year and presumably final year of this challenge; in March I cycled from Aberystwyth to Newport, a wet and watery ride in the wettest March for many years.

All the money raised will go to the DEC Ukrainian Relief Fund, to help people rebuild their lives

Two years later, and I’ve cycled over 3500miles. I’ve now reached Plymouth.

My last section was completed last week; Brighton to London, coming into the capital along the south side of the Thames. Some of the friends who had been on parts of the trip with me, came on the last two days.
