Future Forest Appeal
Campaign by Tree Aid (RCN 1135156)
In northern Ethiopia the desert is spreading and the Metema forest could be on the brink of extinction within 20 years. Your support will restore and protect trees and land. The UK government will match funds raised until 11th July

Story

I wanted to fundraise for a conservation charity which works to protect the world from deforestation, climate change and increasing deserts,  and for a charity that works to protect people's livelihoods, and I was impressed at the way that TreeAid does both.

People in northern Ethiopia are living on the frontline of the climate crisis where temperatures are rising and land is becoming infertile. Ethiopia's Metema forest is in the last green belt before the start of the desert. But the climate crisis and deforestation has taken hold, and without action it could be extinct in 20 years. With your support and match funding from the UK government, the Future Forest project will work with communities to protect their forest, tackling the climate crisis and contributing to the Great Green Wall movement across Africa.Donate before 11th July and your gift will be doubled by the UK government, meaning you can have double the impact.
