Story
I am running the Liverpool Rock'n'Roll 10km on 24th October in the hope to raise money for Different Strokes, a charity that has helped my cousin Lynsey.
Stroke Statistics:
- Every year 100,000 people in the UK have a stroke.
- On average, 100 of these people are under the age of 45.
- Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) accounts for 1% of all strokes across the globe
My cousin Lynsey isn't a statistic, she is a wife, daughter, sister and a mother of 3 young girls. In June 2019, at the age of 42, her whole life changed when she suffered from CVST. Her brain was 95% clogged with clots and she is lucky to be alive.
Fortunately, Lynsey is a fighter but she is still suffering 2 years later.
Different Strokes are a charity who help young people who have suffered a stroke and have helped Lynsey. They provide information packs, support groups, family support and so much more.
I've never ran an actual race before, never mind a 10km so I'm asking for anything you can give to help Different Strokes continue with their work. My company will also match donations up to £200 so lets take them up on that offer :)
Thank you so much, wish me luck!! xx
