Story
In February 2024, I'll be taking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Cambodia, Thailand and Laos to help CARE International fight poverty. My fellow cyclists and I will be cycling over 500km to raise funds and will meet Lendwithcare entrepreneurs. I have made 13 loans through Lendwithcare supporting 57 entrepreneurs in Palestine, Zambia, Pakistan, Ecuador, Peru, Togo and Vietnam. The money I lend is paid back, then reinvested, helping people work their way out of poverty
I will be paying all my own costs so all the money I raise will go to Care International and their projects to fight poverty. This was an impetuous and impulsive decision, I saw the ride advertised and thought - I am going to do that. I have never been more than a recreational cyclist so I am feeling rather overawed by it as I am approaching pensionable age. However as some of you know I love a challenge, and this is a big challenge for me as I need to get fit enough to ride up to 90km a day. I have started training and will put updates here.
