Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those who know me well will recall I have watched the marathon every year saying every time, "One day, that will be me." This year, it actually is.
Aside from balking at the amount of food my chosen charity - Breakthrough Breast Cancer - suggests I eat during training (seriously, they clearly have plans for me to raise money sumo wrestling at a later date) I'm randomly excited to do this. Training seems to be going well, so now for the fundraising element...
In all seriousness, aside from my meticulously planning my workout wardrobe (big thanks to Reebok for kitting me out), this is the important bit, what the Virgin London Marathon is actually all about...
For my part, I have chosen to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer, one of Debenhams' official charities, and the one charity I have experience of working with firsthand. Called upon in my role as Editor to interview a breast cancer survivor, I saw for myself the support this charity gives to those affected by this disease. Most of my working day is spent discussing fashion trends and styling features, therefore this interview certainly stands out in my mind as one of the most emotional experiences I've had in my job. And trust me, it's not like I never get emotional at work - you should see me when I can't get a hold of an outfit I want for a shoot.
In all seriousness, I don't know anyone who doesn't know someone who has been affected by this disease. Please help me raise money for this fabulous cause by hitting the donate button.
It's the easy way, I promise. You could have it worse, you could be my Editorial Assistant, she who has had 'Official Fundraiser' added to her duties. I just hope my boss wasn't serious when he said he'd sponsor me double if I ran it in heels...
Thank you. Very, very much. Wish me luck :)
