Season 3 - 2020

London to Brighton Ultra Challenge 2020 · 23 May 2020 to 24 May 2020 ·
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. So whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right right there with you.
This year I was meant to be walking in 9 events, challenging myself harder than ever before! And then we had the lockdown so the hiking season was sent into meltdown with many events being postponed or cancelled. Training has been limited but I’m going to my best to raise 80% of my original target which was £3k. The season should have begun next weekend with the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge, a continuous 100k hike. I will be doing this virtually over two to three days now. June would have been the South Downs Mighty Hike, July the Gower Peninsula and the Peak District. In August, should have been Dedham Vale and I’m hopeful that the South Coast Ultra Challenge (55km) will go ahead at the end of August. The rest of the season remains unaffected at the present time so the following week, the first weekend in September, it will be the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike, then the Thames Bridges Trek the week after that and to finish the season at the end of September, the Chiltern 50. A busy but incredibly worthwhile year.
Of course there will be fundraising events along the way later in the year I hope: a quiz night, Charity Chinese and a few other bits & pieces. It’s a big target I’m chasing this year. My feet and legs will recover. But there are many of our loved ones who won’t recover from cancer especially since the Covid-19 pandemic and who will need the care and support that Macmillan can provide more than ever before
