We raise awareness and funds to combat the causes of homelessness

Story

‘Charity begins at home’ - isn’t that the saying well following the recent reports of over two million women, men and children having to flee their homes in Ukraine, often walking for miles across borders, I have now committed to jumping out of a plane at 10,000ft (the one thing I’ve always said I would NEVER do!). I’m paying for the jump myself so all monies raised will go to the Red Cross who are part of the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) via The Fine & Country Foundation who are matching this with a £15k donation of their own. The DEC are over there currently providing supplies and medical assistance to those who are now homeless and I’m therefore asking EVERYONE I know to get on board (not on the actual plane obviously! 🤣) and donate whatever you can spare (and more) with the thought that giving (with willingness & love) will always come back to you in life as without giving we can’t expect to receive! Please help me get to my target (to make it impossible for me to back out at the last minute!! 🤣🤣) Thanks to all of you lovely people out there who donate!

About the charity

The Fine & Country Foundation has been created to help combat one of the largest social issues in the UK – homelessness. Last year, the Government estimated around 2,414 people sleep on the street on any one night across England, a rise of 36% over three years. Often the reasons for homelessness are misunderstood, with many blaming the individuals for poor life decisions and carelessness. The reality is: people become homeless for a whole range of complex and overlapping reasons that cannot be avoided, such as family breakdowns, mental or physical health problems or debts. Solving homelessness does not only involve putting a roof over people’s heads, it is also trying to tackle the root of the problem and asking the question: why did they became homeless in the first place? The Fine & Country Foundation is dedicated to bringing together all Fine & Country agents in over 300 locations worldwide to raise awareness of the causes of homelessness whilst supporting homeless charities.
