Well, we completed the daunting task of crossing Scotland South West to North East from Fort William to Inverness along the Great Glen Way - 78 miles (125 kms) in 5 days.

In the teeth of unrelenting Storm Ali, we walked 35kms on one of those days, high up above the shores of Loch Ness. The last day involved 30 kms and we were very tired. But we made it and were heartened by the welcome and generosity of many people along the way - one pub quiz audience (where we were staying on the eve of our last slog) gave us £97 after we came last in the rankings! Their faith in us kept us going those painful last miles. Along with the thought of those terminally sick children in Georgia and their families...
