Story

Due to the treacherous driving conditions caused by the snowy weather, we have taken the difficult but inevitable decision to cancel the event.

Howeve,r, I shall be playing at Poole Soroptimists's meeting on March12th by way of helping A Vision for Vincent make Vincent's wish to help others come true.

This year, I'm President of Soroptimist International Poole.

Soroptimists care passionately about women, children and families. We campaign, we lobby, we support and we fund-raise. Our programme work covers many issues, one of the most important being health.

The Teenage Cancer Trust does the most amazing work caring for teenagers and young adults with cancer and supporting both them and their families.

When my son lost one of his schoolfriends, Vincent, to leukaemia 2 years ago, his parents Tanya and Carl set up A Vision for Vincent, it was Vincent's wish to help the teenagers and young adults with cancer who came after him.

Poole Soroptimists' Music Day at St Aldhelm's Church, Branksome, Poole on 3rd March brings together two of my deep passions - the love of music and my desire to support Dorset children, young adults and their families at their time of great need.

I'm just one of the musicians playing on 3rd March. I'm practising hard to do Vincent proud - I hope he'd approve of my choice of a Telemann Fantasia, a Vivaldi concerto and if time allows, a Piazzolla Tango Etude.

Thank you for reading my story. I hope you don't mind if I finish by asking you to dig deep for A Vision for Vincent and in the knowledge that even at the tender age of 60 I'm actually quite nervous about playing on the day!!

Lizzie xx
