Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In order to raise money for the NIHR Manchester Children's Clinical Research Facility in memory of our friend and colleague Julian Harris I am swimming one mile at the Great North Swim in Lake Windemere on Sunday June 12th 2016. We hope to give the children in the unit some face to face music time whilst undergoing treatments. The lovely Julian Harris was a talented musician and we hope that he would have supported us in this.

Children’s Clinical Research Facility (CRF) was the first specialist facility in the North West and one of only a small handful across the UK.

The children’s CRF is based at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, the largest single-site children’s hospital in the UK. This means that staff have access to all of the hospital’s state-of-the-art equipment and resources, so children can take part in studies alongside on-going treatment.

Experienced staff are specialists in children’s care, with great experience in both research studies and clinical practice.

You can find out more about the children’s CRF by visiting: https://research.cmft.nhs.uk/facilities-services/clinical-research-facility/patients-and-participants/childrens-crf
