Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to try and raise some money for Clatterbridge by shaving my hair off in memory of my mother, Geraldine Wakefield. She was diagnosed with secondary spinal cancer in 2016, we later found the primary was breast cancer. After 2 long years, my mum lost her battle to cancer when it had spread up her spine into her brain. As my mother was profoundly deaf, throughout her treatment we found it extremely comforting that Clatterbridge always provided a BSL interpreter for every appointment even when she was taken in the night she was diagnosed with cancer, there was a BSL interpreter there waiting. Clatterbridge always brought peace to the family knowing she was in good hands and we cannot thank them enough. They helped her get through the ups and downs of being diagnosed with terminal cancer and all of her family who suffered a terrible loss when she passed.. I am hoping to raise approximately £1,000 but anything would be appreciated to help them out with all the wonderful work they do because without them, there would be no support or treatments/cures being found for people diagnosed with Cancer.
