We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

So why have I decided to run the London Marathon this year? In 2002, as a medical student, I ran the marathon in aid of the Sobell Hospice Charity in Oxford.  It was an amazing experience and one I thought I would never repeat following tuberculosis treatment in 2014.  However, seventeen years later, and in my fortieth year, I have decided to give it another crack!

Earlier this year, I became the Child Safeguarding Lead in our GP practice. Through this role and especially through parenting my own children and helping out with the youth and children's work at church, I am keen to run for a charity which aims to protect children from harm and to provide support for young people.  I am looking forward to raising money for this very worthwhile cause and would be so grateful if you would consider sponsoring me.  Thank you.
