I am running The Big Half in September for Starfish Greathearts Foundation. This is a charity close to my heart and I have seen first hand the amazing impact they have on children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and poverty in South Africa. Having done some work for this charity a few years ago, I was able to follow their story and see how children's lives have been changed by their hard work. Starfish works in partnership with grassroots community-based organisations in order to reach and provide support to the most vulnerable children.

Now, as a teacher, I want to do my bit for children who struggle, or are unable to access education because of their circumstances.

I will relish the challenge of running my second half marathon and would really appreciate any support and donations you are able to give. So you know where and how far your donations can go:

£5.50 can provide a top-to-toe check up, follow up treatment and care from the Starfish wellness wagon

£6 can buy a pair of school shoes for a child

£20 can provide a family with an emergency medical pack for a caregiver

£50 can send a child back to school by providing them a uniform, school shoes, books, stationary and educational support

£100 can provide essential equipment for a creche for 50 children
