Twenty months ago Ella and Edward smashed Wr Wyddfa - The highest mountain in Wales 💪

On Saturday 31st May 2025 they are going to climb the highest mountain in England

On the 13th of February 2023 Richard Williams tragically passed away after a short and cruel battle with cancer. Richard was 45 years old. His loss is devastating and deeply felt.

Rich was dad to his two beloved children Ella aged 12 and Edward aged 10.

Richard had no option but to face head on the unimaginable with strength and bravery. As as did Ella and Edward.

From Richard first being admitted into hospital in December, to when he returned and would then sadly die in February, Ella and Edward chose to remain by his side.They supported their beloved dad with all the care, compassion and maturity you would expect to see from adults.

They too were supported to stand beside their dad throughout his journey by the most incredible healthcare teams. They witnessed first hand hard working, compassionate human beings caring for their dad during times of humour, chess games, uncertainty, fear, deterioration and great sadness.

Ella and Edward are on a journey of their own now. One of grieving.

My hope as their mother writing this is that walking and talking whilst getting lots of fresh air and exercise will help them through this painful process.

This hiking challenge will provide them both with a healthy mental focus that they can aim for. They will climb Yr Wyddfa ( formally Snowdon) at the end of August 2023 in memory of their dad, with the support of family and friends.

When asked who they would like to raise funds for, the reply was ‘Cancer Research’.

This charity has been chosen ;‘so that other families don't have to suffer losing their family and friends to cancer'.
