Story
This time last year I tripped over a kerb and split my arm in half while training for the Royal Parks Half Marathon - a race my darling pal Indya and I had decided to sign up for in the depths of a hangover. One year later, I’m giving it another go.
The good news is it helps raise lots of money for very good causes - and mine is St Mungo's. As someone who's lived in London for a decade now, the scale of homelessness can sometimes feel overwhelming. We all try to do our bit, but it never feels like enough. St Mungo's is there to help - to make real change to people's lives, and provide essential support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You can read more about their amazing work below.
The last time I tried to run anything like this far, the 1500m at Downlands Secondary School Sports Day 2003, I was lapped twice and almost hospitalised. Fingers crossed this doesn't go the same way. And also that I don’t bugger it all up thanks to the kerbs of Lewisham Way for a second year in a row.
Any donations would be hugely, hugely appreciated. Thank you.
