Story
On the 29th of September, we will be running the Nottingham Robin Hood Half Marathon, raising money for Alzheimer's UK.
Someone develops dementia every three minutes and currently there's still no cure. At £26 billion each year, dementia costs the UK economy more than cancer and heart disease combined, but over two thirds of the care for dementia patients is paid for by themselves or their family. By 2022, Alzheimer's UK hope to provide all people newly diagnosed with the help of on-going research, dementia cafes and so much more.
We both have grandparents currently living with or who have lived with dementia, and seen first-hand the devastating effects it can have on those with it and their families. We only hope our efforts will bring hope to many more people.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and thank you for your generosity.
