Hello! My name is Cat, and I am the Counselling Manager at ellenor. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This year, the Counselling Team and I have decided to walk together at the Twilight Walk and raise money for ellenor as a team.

We want to walk alongside everyone at the Twilight Walk, first and foremost, because we truly do care about the families we support. Perhaps you, or one of your loved ones, may have accessed our Counselling Service. If you have, then you will undoubtedly know that I mean it when I say that we care. The service you or your loved ones receive is not, and will never be, a tick-box service. We will be there with you, walking alongside you at the Twilight Walk: just like Counselling, when we are afforded the privilege of walking alongside you and sharing that part of your journey with you.

Beyond being Counsellors at ellenor, we are also people outside of work, who have our own lives, and our own stories. This means that we understand the nature of grief, both before and after bereavement. We have lived it, in our own ways, too. It can be an unbearable, messy, heart-wrenching and seemingly endless process. It is yet another reason why we will never settle at providing a tick-box service for the families we support. It is another reason why we will be at the Twilight Walk, walking alongside you.

Finally, we are raising money for ellenor, because we believe in ellenor. We believe in the work that we and all of our colleagues, across all the different teams, do. Each of us feels privileged to be able to work and volunteer for ellenor, and in turn, support the families who access our services every single day.
