'Out of Africa' Appeal Skydive...
Have you heard any Cuckoos recently? It may be harder than you think - they are in trouble in most parts of Britain. And its not just Cuckoos; many other birds which overwinter in Africa are dwindling at an alarming rate. Five out of every six Spotted Flycatchers have already disappeared from our shores, Wood Warblers are declining at as much as 10% per year.
The British Trust for Ornithology need to know more about what happens to these birds, both at the end of their migration routes in Africa, and also on the way to ensure their future conservation BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!
This very important research needs financial help. This is a particularly personal topic for me (my first day as a trainee safari guide I spent hours trying to identify a Spotted Flycatcher), I decided to make a contribution by getting sponsorship for something a little out of the ordinary. But in exchange you get to laugh at me whilst I jump out of a plane. There will I hope be a parachute attached and a stiff drink at the other end!!
