Fundraising for Diabetes UK
Story
Ellie is running her first Half Marathon (Bath) and Lorraine is running Brighton Marathon.
Some of you may know that a few months ago Alfie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 12 and so because of this we have decided to run these marathons in order to raise money for Diabetes UK.
It has been such a life-changing experience for both Alfie and the whole family since he was diagnosed and we never realised the true extent of what Diabetes sufferers have to go through on a daily basis until you have to go through it yourself.
Diabetes UK offers help and support to sufferers, as well as conducting research into the prevention of the condition. It affects more people than any other serious health condition in the UK.
We hope that one day there will be a breakthrough to help Alfie, and millions of other people, making each day a little bit easier for them.
