Story
I am running the 2024 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for PSPA. This is a charity which is very close to mine and my family's heart as I have watched my Grandad suffer with PSP for multiple years. I have seen first hand how this disease can impact ones life and the people surrounding them, therefore I want to help improve the lives of those suffering from PSP.
PSP is not a very well-known disease and I had never heard of it myself until my Grandad's diagnosis. PSP stands for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and it is a rare neurological disorder that is often misdiagnosed. It affects body movements, walking and balance, and eye movements. PSP is caused by damage to nerve cells in areas of the brain that control thinking and body movements.
PSPA is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). By donating money towards this charity, you will be helping them provide information and support for people affected by PSP & CBD whilst funding research into the causes, treatment, and eventually a cure.
As many of you know, I used to be a regular runner, however running this distance is a big challenge which is way out of my comfort zone.
Any donation big or small can go a long way into improving the lives of people suffering from PSPA. Thank you!
