Story
Meet Ellie and Mia, 11 and 9 respectively.
Both girls sadly lost their beloved ponies, Ranger and Merry in 2020.
Prior to this, they regularly hacked out, went on day trips to the beach and local rides, as well as enjoying each others company schooling and jumping.
Both now have new ponies, who are absolute superstars, but along with broken hearts, their confidence has taken a bit of a knock.
This summer, they’ve challenged each other to work on their confidence and have fun with their new ponies. And what better way to do it than raising much needed funds for a worthy charity; Riding for the Disabled.
The girls (along with their long suffering mums) are aiming to ride 300 miles between now and the 3rd July – Ellies birthday.
We hope, Covid restrictions allowing, that their penultimate ride will be on the beach where they last rode with Ranger and Merry.
RDA’s work is delivered by 18,000 volunteers through 500 local groups across the UK. No other UK charity delivers the work we do; our activities (from riding and carriage driving, volunteer training, holidays and educational activities) all have the same goal - focusing on what each beneficiary ‘can do’ to achieve physical and mental wellbeing; with the end goal of enriching lives and changing futures. We need your support to continue the vital work we do and benefit the RDA community. Please do give and donate what you feel you can.
