Bupa Great South Run 2014 · 26 October 2014 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Anyone who knows me is well aware of the fact that I hate running and am also incredibly bad at it! So doing the Bupa Great South Run feels like I am about to take on a marathon.

Camilla knew how much I hated exercise and would laugh so hard if she knew I was even going to attempt to do this! But I also know she would be incredibly proud of me afterwards.

The Teenage Cancer Trust made the last 3 years that little bit more bearable. They looked after my sister, made her feel like she was the only person in the world they were dealing with, and made sure she was as comfortable as she could be.

In her last week, the Teenage Cancer Trust proved how invaluable they are. I cannot possibly imagine how it would have been without the care and the facilities that we were lucky enough to be given.

And even though my gorgeous sister is no longer with us, the Teenage Cancer Trust is. Whenever I need a friendly face and someone to talk to, or when my parents do, or even when her friends do, they are there and ready to listen to us and to try and make things that little bit easier.

I have pledged to try and raise at least £250 for the Teenage Cancer Trust so anything anyone can give to help would be hugely appreciated!

Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity dedicated to providing expert care and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer’. They treat them as young people first, cancer patients second and everything they do aims to improve their quality of life and chances of survival. Teenage Cancer Trust rely on donations to fund their vital work. Help transform the lives of young people with cancer by donating towards my Bupa Great South Run challenge.
